Volunteers are needed to assist with our growing community garden, getting down and dirty, and helping to educate gardeners. Every Wednesday and Sunday afternoon, from 1pm – 3:30/4pm, our coordinator is on site bringing extensive gardening knowledge and a welcoming attitude to the garden.
Examples of how to lend a hand:
Sharing gardening experience and knowledge as a mentor
Preparing communal meals in the gazebo or with the cob oven
Landscaping and maintenance
Weeding and watering for the community plots
Helping out with the maintenance of the orchard
Fruit tree gleaning in the autumn
Native wetland and pond garden— gathering & planting, interpretive programs
Newsletter and writing skills
Social events: potluck meals, festivals, tours
