FindingYourNiche“Finding Your Niche” Workshop

The first in a series of three Sooke Region Food CHI Society Workshops

Learn about crop planning and the changing demand for local food products from one of the country’s most inspiring organic farmers, Dan Brisebois.

Co-author of “Crop Planning for Organic Vegetable Growers”, Dan is the seed production manager and founding member of Tourne-Sol Cooperative Farm, a 12-hectare farming co-operative and CSA partnership in les Cèdres, Quebec. Dan received his BSc from McGill in Agricultural Engineering, served as president of the Canadian Organic Growers, and is a member of the Eastern Canadian Organic Seed Growers steering committee.

Topics will range from selecting which crops to grow to developing a marketing plan, value adding and more.

All are welcome—from the most seasoned farmer to anyone curious about food sustainability and production.
