Fruit Tree Program
Through the registration of local fruit trees, and volunteer harvesters, the Fruit Tree Program provides an opportunity for our community to come together and share in the region’s abundant harvest!
The program facilitates access to nutritious local food for individuals and agencies, and promotes peaceful cohabitation with wildlife by gleaning trees that would otherwise go unpicked.
Volunteers and Tree Owners are each entitled to 1/3 of the harvest, while the remaining 1/3 is distributed to families through collaboration with the Sooke Food Bank and other community resources.
If you would like to register your fruit trees in our program, please see our Fruit Tree Registration Form. If you wish to join us for picking, and bring home some local bounty, please see our Volunteer Registration Form.
