A celebration of harvests, local foods and community. A family fun event.Get set for Sooke’s 3rd annual Apple Festival, a day celebrating the town’s agricultural heritage and distinctive apple varietals. Admission is by donation. What to expect (apart from a lovely late morning/early afternoon spent wandering SRG with friends old and new): Apple and apple tree sales, local growers, apple identification, pie auction, delicious apple products, hand pressed juices, apple bobbing, orchard tours, music and games. Unique food vendors offering local food snacks and lunch. Music performances by Sooke’s Katrina Kadoski, Dave Gallant and Phil N Rossner. What to bring: A market bag for any treats or produce to take home, sunscreen (you will certainly want to stay for several hours, if not longer), a picnic blanket if you so desire, and a great appetite! Where to find it: The Sunriver Community Gardens is located on Phillips Road, not far up from the Sooke Region Museum and lighthouse. Follow the signs. Want to volunteer?
